Vitality AI is the future

Artificial intelligence is unlocking behaviour change and transforming Shared Value Insurance for the better.
This is powered by Vitality AI.
Healthcare systems around the world are under increasing pressure, yet one of the biggest challenges remains turning good intentions into lasting behaviour change.
It is this challenge that sits at the heart of Vitality AI, launched in partnership with Google in 2025. By combining AI technology with rich Vitality data and behavioural economics, its aim is to provide more personalised, relevant and timely support that helps clients focus on the actions most likely to improve their long-term health.
“Much of daily life is controlled by habits,” explains Emile Stipp, Vitality AI CEO. “By helping people build healthier habits, we can create meaningful benefits for both their health and wellbeing.”
This is where Stipp believes many current AI health tools fall short. While recent AI assistants are becoming increasingly effective at helping people understand health information, they rely on users recognising a problem, seeking help and asking the right questions.
Vitality’s vision is different. By analysing the relationship between behaviours such as activity, sleep and engagement with healthcare services, Vitality AI aims to identify opportunities for intervention long before more serious issues arise.
"Many people know what they could do to improve their health," says Stipp. "The challenge is turning that knowledge into action and sustaining it over time. Generic recommendations often fail to engage the people who could benefit most, leaving preventable risks unmanaged."
Vitality AI is designed to close this gap. It identifies the health action that matters most for each member, based on its potential impact on their health and their likelihood of completing it. It then uses personalised communications, rewards and step-by-step pathways to make that action feel relevant, achievable and worth doing. As members respond, the system learns and adapts, helping turn individual actions into sustained healthy habits that deliver a reduction in risk.
One of its earliest applications is Personalised Step Targets, which replace one-size-fits-all activity goals with tailored targets for less active members. Its impact has already been significant, with members who completed the programme increasing their daily step count by around 40%1.
At Launch 2026, we unveiled a range of new Vitality AI innovations for the Vitality Programme, including Personalised Health Checks, explored within this guide.

“The future is helping millions of people live longer, heathier lives through meaningful, personalised behaviour change”
